M to the Sixth Power

ree

My life changed in 1999 when I helped create a women’s group that was begun for the “soul” purpose of helping each other realize our dreams and goals. The concepts we used were so simple and so effective, and I became so impassioned about sharing them, that I wrote my first book (Six Degrees to Your Dreams https://www.iuniverse.com/BookStore/BookDetails/101438-SIX-DEGREES-TO-YOUR-DREAMS). Patty DuToit and Judy Yriarte initially pulled us all together, and I’m forever grateful to them both.

Accepting the invitation to that first meeting changed my life’s trajectory. These women inspired me and taught me how to follow my dreams. And I’ve never since stopped.

We named the group M to the Sixth Power, or M6, because M refers to the realm of mystical magic, movement, motion and more practically, masterminding principles. The number six refers to the six people who were in attendance at the first meeting, along with the six degrees of connection theory.

25 years after the first Wishweavers Workshop in 2000, several of we M6 members met Saturday for a reunion at Elmer’s in Woodburn. I wasn’t expecting such immediate tears...they sure did flow!

Sometimes we don’t understand the most important things in our lives at the time they’re happening. I think with M6 I did then, and I do even more now.

I’m filled with gratitude this Thanksgiving week. For groups like M6. For my husband and our furry girl, Linn. For this house we live in and the wonderful people we celebrate holidays like Thanksgiving with. For clean drinking water. That there are no wars where I live here in Oregon. That I can feel safe and secure waking up in the morning, in a very comfortable bed. For my Keurig coffee maker. For Green Mountain breakfast blend coffee. For Mom. I got to spend a whole week with her last month, one of the best weeks I’ve had since my illness. For Granny Smith apples and brown sugar.

My Thanksgiving dinner menu:

Chicken Cordon Bleu with Bearnaise sauce (From a packet)

Wild Rice (Thank you, Uncle Ben)

Green Bean Casserole (Nod to tradition)

Crockpot Dressing (Recipe some blogger got from the Calgary Herald)

Dinner Rolls (Rare on my end, not perfect, perfectly serviceable)

Asparagus a guest is bringing

Cranberry Sauce

Apple Crisp with vanilla bean ice cream

Let me know if you’d like any of the recipes.

And if you’d like to start your own wish-weaving group, the Six Degrees book shows you how!

Hugs,

Laura
