A Classified/Personal Ad from a dying female seeking male to have end of life sex with. Requested: a recent photo, a couple of handwritten paragraphs, and astrological sign. Only serious need apply – and, please, no drama seekers.
Thus begins Marla Norton’s End of Life Sex, featured in the The 2026 Chapel Theatre play festival.
I’m tickled pink to introduce my co-star and our director.

Dan Sweet took his first acting class four years ago and fell in love with the Portland Acting Community. He recently completed an intensive 2-year conservatory actor’s training program, and post-graduation immediately landed a role as a plant named Cheryl. Dan has also branched into Improv and Stand Up Comedy, recently performing at a sold-out student showcase at Kickstand Comedy. Dan has a strange and varied history having worked as Ski Instructor, Focus Group Coordinator, Software Engineer, and Saturday Market Vendor. Dan once almost killed a professional square dancer with a Yo-Yo and (unrelated) hasn’t drunk alcohol in 19 years.

Marie MacMillan is a Portland-area playwright, theatre artist, and improv player. Favorite credits include the role of Kathryn Bigelow in Point Break Live! at the Funhouse Lounge, hair & makeup design for Silent Sky at Magenta Theater, and creator of Many Bothans Died: a one-act space comedy. More at mariemacmillan.com.
On another note, I also wanted to let you know about a full-throttle dream-design session and your launchpad for the new year, helping you move from vision to momentum. My friend and colleague, Brenda Bryan, is hosting this powerful full day workshop. Details below.

Most people spend more time planning their vacations than they do planning their lives. This year, do it differently.

If you come to the Chapel Theatre show, hang around and say “hello” afterwards – I’d love to see you!
Love Your Voice & Voice Your Love,
Laura
