Simply Authentic...Your Soul Voice is Calling. When the World is Against You: The Hacker with an Assault Weapon

When the World is Against You: The Hacker with an Assault Weapon Merry Christmas (I apologize if you're not Christian). Happy Hanukkah (I apologize if you're not Jewish). Happy Holidays (I apologize if you're not happy)... –as seen on Facebook Do you have weeks when it feels like the world is against you? I’m coming out of a couple weeks like that. First there was a big snow storm. Big for the Willamette Valley, that is. I grew up in South Dakota, so this is nothing. But in Portland, snow storms are a critical event – clogging up and rearranging roads, freeways, travel time and schedules. Then I had to cancel a class due to lack of registration, probably partially because of the snow storm. And then a bigger snow storm hit the following week…but not until after my website got hacked for the second time since October. So exciting, and…oh, so not wonderful,  happy and jolly. It’s been quite an adventure, with a different hacker this time. Have you had your website hacked? If not, know the name of the hacker shows up.  Hacked by…xyzimaginenothingbettertodo. It seems like a badge of pride. Fortunately, I have a great web diva and received help from multiple people during this website transition and everything is functioning fine now. A first world kind of problem. But let me tell you a little about this hacker. I won’t include the on-line name, just what my fiancé found about him on-line. Which wasn’t a lot, because most of his face was hidden by the automatic assault weapon he held in front of it. It looks just like the rifle my step-son, Derek, was handed when he graduated from the Marine Military Academy in San Diego, CA.

Derek made it back safely from Afghanistan, where their mission was to find a group of terrorists and kill them. But he didn’t make it back from Iran, where he was killed by an IED (improvised explosive device, or road-side bomb) at the age of 21. I don’t understand why we do this to each other. And I can’t imagine what it’s like growing up in a culture where you are impoverished and surrounded by assault weapons all the time. For all I know, this hacker could have had a gun to his head, with his family threatened if he didn’t follow orders. I saw the movie Captain Phillips! Those Somalian pirates did not enjoy the ride; they were desperate and didn’t see another option. This may be the best realization of this holiday season – putting ourselves into another’s place. What we see on the surface is rarely the true, whole authentic story. Let’s share our true, whole authentic story with love, in service to everyone we meet this holiday season.
