Simply Authentic...Your Soul Voice is Calling. I'm In a Music Video!

I’m In a Music Video! I’ve never been much of a “joiner.” Life already seems full enough of obligations with work and family commitments, places you have to be, appointments you need to keep, without adding being a member of a neighborhood association, bunco club or even professional organization. Yet I’ve surprised myself this past year. I went to a local Toastmasters club meeting to brush up on my public speaking skills and loved WE Toasted so much I became not only a member, but an officer, Vice President of Public Relations. This is so not like me. But I love the people in this group and the skills and experience I’ve gained from speaking myself, and from evaluating other people’s speeches and participating in other roles. And that’s just one surprise 2015 has held for me to date. June 6 was a red letter day all the way around. Right after teaching my first Authentic Performance: Fundamentals of Acting class I headed to meet Barry Dennis and the COEXIST Visionaries to record a music video! (I interviewed Barry, author of The Chotchky Challenge, Hay House, 2012, for my January 5, 2015 blog entry; please refer to that interview for more details.) I’ve volunteered some in the past – briefly teaching English as a second language, and walking dogs and cleaning cat cages at the Humane Society. Now, I contribute to my community and attempt to make a positive difference by donating my time, talent, money and energy to the COEXIST Visionaries and Tipping Point Productions. Our mission statement? Spread love. It doesn’t get much simpler or more powerful than that.
