Help! Who are you to meant to help? We’re all meant to help someone, or something; otherwise, we wouldn’t be here. Do you remember that phrase, “He who dies with the most toys wins”? It might be an age thing, but I do. Have you heard the phrase, “No-one, on their death-bed, says they wish they would have spent more time at the office.” I’m guessing no matter your age, you’ve heard that one. Let’s say an alien from a self-sustaining planet comes to Earth and spends about four hours with American media. What do you think that alien would find? Post your comments on the blog! A few of my thoughts are...A new car! (No offense to The Price is Right. Everybody loves to “Come on down!”) A newly refinanced mortgage, lower your rate for 30 years! Get fuller, longer, shinier hair! Plump your eyelashes, slim your belly and get the physical and mental health you’ve always wanted! Surgery, cosmetics, and medication can help with almost anything! But be careful of the side effects of the medication and even more careful because bad weather is coming, an accident happened on the freeway, and a man, in custody for killing his wife, claimed he didn’t know the gun was loaded when he pointed it at her face… The alien might want to go back home. I would want to go home, but I live here. My fiancé is a massage therapist, a physically demanding calling. I used to be a claims examiner, a mentally and emotionally taxing job. I remember this time George met me in the office building for a coffee break, and I simply didn’t want to go back to work. I extended the coffee break as long as I could, while George had a client booked for a massage. He said, “it’s time for us to go back to helping people.“ People come to George in pain and need of physical touch; his method of helping people is more obvious. It’s not always as easy to see how you’re helping in a “desk” job. Yet these mere words helped me go back to my desk and remember each injured worker needed medical assistance and I could facilitate that. Employers needed me to facilitate the claims process and help keep their costs down. Medical professionals required my prompt attention for approval or denial of procedures. Lawyers and the law depended on my prompt attention to discovery and hearing requests. Managing claims may occur in a more adversarial environment than providing massages in a health-oriented clinic (which a claims adjuster may not approve, by the way), but we can all find ways to help others. That tiny mind shift leads to big results. Now, I need your help finding the women I am meant to serve. I provide three full $1200 scholarships for the Authentic Expression Wishweavers Circle (AEWWC), launching mid-February, for women who qualify for this on-line series and couldn’t otherwise afford it. These women must be ready to get out of their comfort zone and into their authentic zone, with a support system of like-minded Wishweavers who will hold them accountable to growing and thriving into their potential. They possess these five qualities and characteristics: Committed, Compassionate, Accountable, Growth-Oriented, Positive Attitude. This on-line class is a nine-week series and they must commit to the entire process. They will have an ongoing Wishweavers community for life after the series is complete.
